On 23 May 2010 I attended a Meditation Flow workshop with Michael Stewart hosted by Brigitte Rooney in Milton Keynes. Michael focussed on Hatha Yoga as a Tantric Practice that prepares us for the truest experience of an embodied life. Exploring asana, pranayama, mantra, chanting, satsang, the Chakras, relaxation, meditation and laughter.
Michael Stewart visited Milton Keynes in September 2009 to run a workshop hosted by Brigitte Rooney. Michael is a Hatha Yoga teacher with a varied background, from the Jivamukti studio in New York City to Iyengar in India, Rajanaka Yoga, mantras, kirtan and African music.
With “ha” meaning “sun” and “tha” meaning “moon”, Hatha Yoga is commonly translated as the yoga that brings union “of the pairs of opposites” by striking the appropriate balance between them. The structure of the workshop was to focus on a morning asana practice that was heating, externally focused, and energetic, balanced with an afternoon practice that was internally focussed, fluid and calming.
