In September 2013 I was one of more than 100 people participating in a flash mob, spontaneously practicing yoga in the centre of Milton Keynes. It was fantastic joining with so many people to mark International Day of Peace. Here are a few images from the event.
In July 2012 I attended a workshop of story and asana taught by Claire Murphy, hosted by Brigitte Rooney in Milton Keynes. Claire had structured the workshop around the story of Vyaghrapada (one having the feet like a tiger), one of the mythical rishis (sages) of ancient India. Vyaghrapada met with another seeker, Pantanjali, in the forest and these different and unlikely friends form a bond which celebrates both their similarities and their differences. Remembering the simple truths in this teaching, we begin to realize what unites us, and threaded through the narrative was a strong and detailed asana practice.
In August 2011 I attended a hatha yoga practice taught by Deborah Berryman at the Peace Pagoda in Milton Keynes. The event was organised by Whitespace Studio.
In April 2011 I attended an Anusara Yoga workshop taught by Ross Rayburn, and hosted by Brigitte Rooney in Milton Keynes. With a morning session focussed on backbends and hand balances and an afternoon of forward bends, hip openers and twists it was a packed day.
