In April 2011 I attended an Anusara Yoga workshop taught by Ross Rayburn, and hosted by Brigitte Rooney in Milton Keynes. With a morning session focussed on backbends and hand balances and an afternoon of forward bends, hip openers and twists it was a packed day.
In July 2009, Ross Rayburn visited Milton Keynes to teach an Anusara Yoga workshop hosted by Brigitte Rooney. The first half of the workshop focussed on setting foundations in asana practice, especially in the lower body.
Recognition of the Heart: Setting the Foundation to Open to Grace. Tap into the power of a strong foundation and learn to align with the vast currents of “Grace” in your body, mind and heart. This practice will focus on the foundation for freedom in the lower body, giving you a sense of groundedness that lets you soar. You’ll feel your yoga practice take on a luminous, almost magical quality.
The second half focussed on the upper body and moving from the strong foundations set in the first session.
Courage + Creativity: Go Deeper with Muscular + Organic Energy. Use the stability of a strong foundation to authenticate, enliven and expand your asana practice. Learn how Muscular Energy creates steadiness, and how Organic Energy can transform the poses that normally feel restricted-from the inside. Feel your upper body come alive, with open hearted delight and unabashed freedom.
